Blogmas #11 - An Open Letter to a Younger Me.

11 December 2016

Right guys today's post is pretty serious and not my normal sly comments after everything.

Sorry if you cry mum.
An Open Letter To a Younger Me. Blogmas #11

Dear Courteney between the ages of 10 and 16.

I have a few things I would like to discuss with you and warn you about your future. Don't get angry with me I'm only here to help.

You life is going to be tough, tougher than you ever thought it could be. Things are going to happen that you cannot stop and it may ruin a few good things in your life so just be prepared for that. You're going to experience things that you can't explain to anyone. From the age of 16 you are going to go into battle with yourself and your own mind and emotions, but don't worry you will win!

Please try harder in school, don't worry about trying to fit in and concentrate on your school work. Do your revision instead of going out worried you may miss out on something. You have to make these sacrifices in life and you will learn that they will work out for the best and you won't end up working in a call center. Don't put too much trust and loyalty into people who don't respect it as it will ruin you trust in people in the future and you will create a barrier for yourself that distances you from other people.

Always listen to mums advice of 'boys smell' because shes right, they do. You may think that boy likes you but he doesn't. Just listen to Mum ok?

Its too late for me but just so you know your life will be difficult. Also, please don't follow in my footsteps, be a good girl, keep your head down and just get on with stuff. Only put your trust into people who deserve and respect it.

Yours truly,

  1. I totally agree with focusing on school work, looking back I didn't as much as I should have.

  2. Great idea for a post! So many things I would tell my younger self if I could x

  3. What a nice post, I'm only 16 so I guess I'm not old enough to do a post like this...perhaps a letter to my future self.

  4. Totally agree, when you're in school it feels like the social side is everything, but ultimately you're probably not going to see most of those people again once you leave, and the things that will stay with you are your grades so that's what you need to focus on.

  5. What a lovely post, I think it's always good to give advice to your past self because whilst what happened has already happened, it just shows good character to reflect. x

  6. Lovely honest post, if only we could go back knowing what we know now, how different things might be.
    Mel xx
