Salted Caramel Meringues

30 October 2016

Hey guys!

So I finally branched out on my baking and tried something new. Salted caramel meringues, and my god they were delicious.

Payday came around and I couldn't help myself but go into Hobby craft (I need 24/7 supervision when I'm in this shop) and I decided I wanted to do some baking so I bought a chocolate milkshake flavored and salted caramel flavored icing sugar. I thought 'I'll buy these for bae and make him some meringues' (as I had made normal meringues a few days before that he enjoyed).

4 large egg whites
115g of caster sugar
115g of salted caramel icing sugar.

Step by step instructions -
1. Using an electric hand whisk, whip the 4 large egg whites into a fluffy cloud like texture until it stands on stiff peaks when you remove the whisks.

2. Using a desert spoon, whilst mixing faster, add in the caster sugar one spoonful at a time leaving about 5 seconds in between.

3. Using a spatula, fold in the icing sugar to the mixture, one third at a time.

4. Then all you need to do is either pipe or put spoonfuls of the mixture on a baking tray covered with grease-proof paper and bake for an hour and a half at 100 degrees (fan).

I've never been so proud of my baking as I've heard meringues can be difficult but I smashed it, not once but twice may I add. They've gone down a treat with everyone so they must have been good!!!

See you all soon xxxxx
aka. Merry Berry.
