Don't let today be a waste of make-up...

21 June 2016

Me again, (lucky you)

I love anything to do with make-up, from buying it, to trying it, to it becoming part of my daily routine so today I thought I would tell you my day time make-up routine, my reviews on each product and my personal favorites.

Primer...
So firstly I prime my clean, fresh face with Bare Minerals BB Prime Time primer-cream in a medium shade as I'm quite olive skinned. I spread this over my face like a foundation and I tell you what, I do not go anywhere without this product. It is a god send and you can tell if you don't put it underneath your make-up. I always recommend a primer now, I can't live without this!

Foundation...
Next, I use Bare Minerals either Bare-skin liquid foundation in shade 'Bare Natural 07', or I use the compact powder foundation in shade R250. The Bare-skin liquid foundation is really good, easy to use and doesn't even feel like a liquid, it feels like a powder and is so light on your face. It has very good coverage and I would highly recommend this foundation to anyone. The Bare Minerals compact powder is also incredible. The coverage is amazing and it gives more of an airbrushed effect than the liquid, also very light on the skin. It doesn't feel as if you have caked foundation on like some cheaper brands. I would also highly recommend this foundation to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, good coverage foundation!

Bronzer/Contour...
Depending on how I am feeling, to contour my cheek bones I will either use the Bare Minerals 'The High Dive' bronzer or Contour Cosmetics cream contour kit (I swear by this contour kit, it is my life and more). The Bare Minerals bronzer is a more softer contour whereas the cream contour kit is a darker, harsher contour. So if I'm feeling sassy I will go for the cream contour, slaying with defined cheek bones, or if I'm feeling sensible and mature I will go for the softer powder contour with the bronzer. Both of these items I would recomend for contouring, but my personal favorite is the Contour Cosmetics cream contour kit, it's so easy to blend and apply and gives a really chiselled look.

Blusher...
Okay, so I'm not the type of person to wear or even suit blusher but if I feel a little rebelious and fancy a bit of colour on my face I use a little £2.50 primark blusher (cheap skate I know). Although, it is really pigmented so it has alot of colour no matter how little you put on your brush. I'm not really one to wear blusher so it's not something I would highly recommend but each to their own.

Mineral Veil...
So as you all know I like my Bare Minerals make-up, I'm not exactly sure if all make-up brands have it but Bare Minerals have something called a mineral veil. The mineral veil is there to apply to your face once youve done all your foundation etc. It sets the make-up to the face and it applies just like a powder. If you wear Bare Minerals you will know it's a must have! I think it is only suitable for their face products

Now for my brows...
I wouldn't say I am an eyebrow perfectionist but I do want them to look nice, obviously, and I wouldn't say I am good at drawing on my brows like all the "eyebrow goals" photo's you see all over social media. To do my brows I use a little eyebrow shape and define kit from Select (yes the clothes shop) they have a little stand for make-up and that's where I found it. It's one of my favorite brow kits I have owned, highly recommend!!

Eyes...
For my day time make-up I don't  usually wear eye shadow, unlike when I go out out. I usually just put some concealer (also from select) over my shopping bags and on my eyelids just to cover my dark circles. This concealer isn't great and I wouldn't really recommend this product but it does the job for now. I'm waiting for my birthday so I can get one that really does the job (suggestions are welcome). If I choose to wear eyeliner (bane of my life) I have one of the felt tip type ones from Collection 2000. I try "winging it" but they never turn out even so I then get angry and give up with life. These pen type eyeliners are easier to use than the brushes in my eyes (pardon the pun) those brushes that go with the pots of eyeliner are too small and my hand starts shaking - nightmare.

Mascara...
So I'm one of these females that use 3 different mascaras because I know they all do different things. firstly I will curl my eyelashes so that they point up not out. The first layer (you'll never guess what brand) is Bare Minerals Lash Domination. I use this as my base mascara as it gives them the thick black colour and length I like. This mascara is more than good enough to use on its own but I just like my eyelashes my way. Definitley my favorite out of all my mascaras. I then go on to use the Maybelline Colossal mascara just to build up the thickness (don't worry I don't go for the clumpy look). Finally to finish off and space out my eyelashes the way I like them I use Natural Collection Lash Build mascara. I like all 3 of these masacara's but my personal favorite is the Lash Domination by Bare Minerals as it gives a false lash effect look, definite recommend!!

Finally, Lips...
To finish up my day time make-up look I will use Mac lip-liner in colour 'Spice' and Mac matte lipstick in colour 'Velvet Teddy'. I never used to wear lipstick as it never suited me but I do not leave the house without this colour. The lip-liner and lipstick colours really complement each other and make my lips look plumped. It doesn't dry like a matte lipstick either it moisturizes your lips and stays creamier for a lot longer than any other matt lipstick/gloss. Out of all my make up and what I have spoken about today these two items are my all time fave! I LOVE THIS LIPSTICK!

That is all for today. Hope you all enjoyed my first make-up blog. Lots of love to you all!
